The world is loud. The news cycle churns, the to-do lists grow, and the weight of holding everything together, our families, our work and our friendships can press heavy on our shoulders. But here’s the truth: we cannot pour from an empty cup. And we certainly cannot nurture those around us if we don’t take a moment to nourish ourselves.
So today, on Valentine’s Day, let’s do something revolutionary. Let’s turn down the noise and turn up the music. Let’s step away from the urgency of the world and lean into something softer, richer, and more sustaining. Let’s remind ourselves that our presence is the most powerful gift we can give.
Women have always been the keepers of the hearth, the ones who create warmth in the home, in business, and in community. We hold space. We listen. We mend and weave and build. And yet, we so often forget that we, too, need tending.
So today, let’s make something sweet, not just for those we love, but for ourselves. Let’s stir together something luscious, something that reminds us that nourishment isn’t just about food, it’s about pleasure, about presence, about taking a moment to simply be.
This chocolate mousse is one of my favorite recipes. It’s rich, decadent, and made with ingredients that satisfy not just the body but the soul. It’s really easy to make.
A little indulgence, a little nourishment, because life should be savored.
Beth’s Velvety Chocolate Mousse
Ingredients:
1 whole can coconut cream
1 and ¾ cups cocoa powder (or raw cacao for a deeper flavor)
½ cup tahini or almond butter
1 and 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
3 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
A pinch of sea salt
Instructions:
1. Blend everything together in a Vitamix or other high speed blender for about 2 minutes until silky smooth.
2. Spoon into small bowls or glasses.
3. Refrigerate for at least an hour to set.
4. Garnish with chocolate shavings and a dollop of whipped cream for a little extra indulgence. Crushed pistachios and organic rose petals would be nice too!
That’s it. Simple. Luxurious. A perfect pause in the day.
So today, let’s remember this:
We don’t always have to hold everything together.
We don’t have to carry the weight of the world alone.
We are allowed to pause, to soften, to savor.
Turn down the noise. Turn up the love.
Wishing you all a Happy Valentine’s Day, filled with presence, connection, and a little bit of sweetness.
